Built on Experience. Focused on the Details.
Elevate Design Build is a Steamboat Springs-based general contractor specializing in high-end home remodels, thoughtful design, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Our approach is simple: bring experienced builders and design expertise together under one roof. From the earliest ideas and material selections to construction and finish work, we believe the best projects come from careful planning, clear communication, and an uncompromising attention to detail.
Whether we're transforming a kitchen, reimagining an entire home, or creating custom details that make a space truly unique, our goal is to build something that feels intentional, functions beautifully, and stands the test of time.
Meet the Team
Garrett Martella
Founder, Garrett is a licensed General Contractor with nearly a decade of hands-on experience in the trades. Elevate was built to deliver a seamless, elevated building experience tailored to Steamboat Springs living.
Garrett spent six years refining his craft as a custom carpenter right here in Steamboat, developing an intimate understanding of alpine architecture, local mountain conditions, and fine woodworking. Since stepping into the role of GC in early 2024, he has brought that same craftsman’s mindset to managing whole-home transformations and luxury remodels from start to finish.
Garrett thrives on navigating the entire journey—envisioning how structural choices and layout decisions early on will influence the final, refined touches months down the line. From the initial conceptual walk-through to the precise alignment of custom cabinetry and trim.
David Garwood
David brings more than 30 years of experience across every phase of the design-to-build process. His background includes extensive hands-on experience with kitchen installation and construction, giving him a practical understanding of how thoughtful design translates into a finished space.
Combined with a strong eye for design, David's construction knowledge allows him to consider both form and function from the beginning of a project. He enjoys working with homeowners to turn their ideas into spaces that are beautiful, functional, and distinctly their own.
Ryan Ellis
Ryan has always had a passion for building, problem-solving, and working with his hands. With a background spanning construction, custom camper van builds, operations, and technology, Ryan brings a unique mix of hands-on experience and organization to Elevate Design Build. He has been doing carpentry work since high school and has even taken on the challenge of building his own home.
At Elevate, Ryan enjoys bringing all the pieces of a project together—from planning and coordinating trades to solving challenges in the field and keeping projects moving forward. Most of all, he enjoys working with clients and helping turn their ideas and vision for their home into reality.
Outside of work, Ryan and his wife, Addy, love traveling and exploring new places. At home in Steamboat, you'll usually find them skiing, biking, hiking, or enjoying the outdoors.
Thoughtful Design. Quality Construction.
Great remodeling isn't just about creating a beautiful finished space. It's about making good decisions from the beginning, solving challenges along the way, and having the right people there to execute the details.
At Elevate Design Build, design and craftsmanship work together throughout the process. It's how we create homes that feel considered rather than simply renovated—and how we deliver work we're proud to put our name on.
